Why is gym a lifetsyle not a hobby? And why is Miguel O'hara a representation of this?

Let's go from the beginning. He has no life outside of his job. He has no social life, virtually no friends, and definitely no pets or plants. He does however have huge biceps, so who's really winning?

Secondly.. there is no seconldy. Gym is a sacrifice. You can have friends and alcohol or you can be angry and alone but with abs. Make your choice and choose wisely.
